What is an underground dining?
Underground dining or supper clubs are eating places in where food is prepared, must commonly, by food lovers and not necessarily chefs. It is a very unique experience because you will eat a variety of dishes generally not found in restaurants, all this in a very cosy environment. In this case, it is a secret dinner party with traditional Mexican food, which happens always at my place.
How much does it cost?
I love to cook and I do this because I want to show how amazing Mexican food can be. So I don’t charge per se, instead I’d like to receive a voluntary donation for the experience.
So, how do I know how much is enough to donate?
It’s up to you how much you will be willing to donate, depending on the experience that you had. I always suggest a minimum donation for each dinner; this basically covers the cost of ingredients and some of the time spent for preparation. So, you can donate the suggested amount or donate more if you think it was worth it.
How can I make a booking?
You have to pick a date, make a booking by email or contact form and I will get back to you with the details shortly.
Where is going to be?
Because it is a secret dinner party the whereabouts will be send by email or SMS a couple of days before the dinner date.
What if I have special dietary requirements?
At the moment I’m not accommodating people with dietary requirements. It’s not that I don’t want to, but it will be difficult for me to prepare special foods for every person. I really want people to experience real Mexican food and at the end the menu developed for that night would be affected.
However, Mexican food is so varied that some times the menu will include dairy free, gluten free and meatless foods. I recommend checking the menu for the dinner party that you are thinking of coming to, or feel free to contact me to see if the menu suits your requirements.
What kind of produce do you use?
If possible, local, organic and free-range produce will be used, depending on availability.
Are drinks provided?
Spring water will be provided, but all the dinner parties will be BYO.
I would like to have a private dinner, is it possible?
Yes, of course. If you have more than 12 people I can accommodate your group in a separate day.
I’m a vegetarian and I really would like to experience Mexican food. Is it possible to have a vegetarian dinner party?
Yes, sure. Send me an email and I will organise one with people sharing the same requirements, or if you have more than 12 people I can accommodate a vegetarian night!
Is it possible to cancel?
Hey life happens, so if you have to cancel do it at least with 48 hrs before the dinner day. And if you cannot come on the day of the dinner, please let me know instead of not showing up.
