Let’s celebrate!

 

 

It is September once again, and it is time to celebrate Mexican Independence day. As usual I’ll prepare pozole, a traditional Mexican stew/soup and some other delicatessens.

MENU

The dinner party will start with appetisers

Picadas – Thick tortillas with salsa, black beans, chorizo, cream and onion on top

Flautas – Crispy tacos

Chalupitas – Crisp tortilla topped with shredded chicken with a smoked chipotle chilli and tomato sauce

Chiles rellenos – Jalapeño chilli, filled with cheese, served in a rich tomato sauce

Pozole – Mexican stew, made with pork and hominy (dried corn kernels). Served with lettuce, radishes, arbol chilli, and tostadas

Manjablanco con buñuelo– Mexican blancmange and fritters
